Healthy scalp and hair has an acidic hydrolipid barrier, known as the acid mantle, which has an average pH value of 5.5. Beaver products are formulated to the same pH balance for optimal support of hair's barrier functions. It is important to avoid alkaline cleanser and moisturizers which can compromise the acid mantle, increasing the risk fo dryness and irritation.
