What is UV Care ViruX? ViruX is a patented technology fused into the HEPA filters which instantly inactivates pathogens such as SARS-CoV-2, E. Coli and Staphylococcus Aureus. ViruX captures, incapacitates and eliminates harmful microorganisms in a seamless motion as it passes through the filter. It uses conductive metal particle agents that create nanospikes on the fabric surface making it highly potent against pathogens. These prickly spikes will punch holes in the cell membrane or viral coating and create free radicals that prevent cell respiration and accelerate the kill, destroying the DNA and RNA inside a bacteria or virus preventing replication. *When to change filters? To maintain the maximum performance of the UV Care Clean Air Plasma Purifier, it is recommended that the combination filter be replaced every six (6) months. This is dependent upon frequency of use and other environment factors. With regular use, HEPA Filter will also change from white to grey or black due to accumulation of dust and dirt. A filter wheel is also built into the rear of the unit to track filter changes. Simply set the wheel 6 months ahead as a reminder. The wheel is marked with the months of the year. Please note that the filter is not washable.
